Every item in your cart gets a Product Score out of 100, calculated across three factors. Your overall Top Haul score is the weighted average across all items in your cart.
The Product Score is the score for a single item, calculated using the same Value, Quality, and Brand formula. It tells you how good that individual piece is before you add it to your cart.
When you add multiple items, your Top Haul score is the weighted average of all their Product Scores. Adding a high-scoring item pulls your haul up; adding a low scorer pulls it down.
Each brand has a sale history profile — how deep they discount, and how often. Brands that regularly offer 40–50% off (like Gap or J.Crew) get a small value bonus, because savvy shoppers can almost always get a better price.
If an item is already on sale, that's reflected directly in the value score. The sale intel section on each product page tells you whether to buy now or wait.
Shipping isn't added as a separate line item because it varies too much by order size, location, and membership status. Instead, each brand's typical shipping threshold is factored into its value score.
Brands with free shipping (like COS and Veja) score slightly higher on value than brands that charge for shipping or have high free-shipping thresholds. You can see each item's shipping policy on its product page.
